Identification of Potato Cultivars and Clones by Electrophoresis Patterns of Tuber Proteins and Isozymes

Abstract

|
The potato clones were identified by the electrophoretic band patterns of tuber proteins, esterase and peroxidase. After electrophoretic seperation of tuber proteins in pH 4.5 gel, the potato clones were classified into 13 groups according to their band patterns. Only single clone was included in each of the group 1 to 6. Two to four clones were found in group 7 to 13. Futher identification was possible with esterase and peroxidase.
